The Armenian government is negotiating the sale of the country's main energy infrastructure to the Turkish company "Aksa Enerji".

Modern.az reports that Turkish media has disseminated information about this.

According to the information, after the removal of the previous management of the "Electric Networks of Armenia" (ENA) company, the company's management was temporarily placed directly under the control of the Armenian Cabinet of Ministers.

According to sources, negotiations began as early as June – during Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to Istanbul. That visit was Pashinyan's first business trip to Turkey, and experts now believe that the Prime Minister discussed not only political dialogue but also the sale of strategic assets to Turkish investors.

According to the information, the negotiations are led on the Armenian side by Xaçatур Sükiasyan, a deputy of the ruling "Civil Contract" party, a businessman, and a member of Pashinyan's inner circle.

After the arrest of former ENA head Samvel Karapetyan on charges of "anti-government activities," the process of transferring the company's assets to state control was accelerated. Subsequently, ENA's license for domestic electricity distribution was revoked, which observers interpret as the removal of legal obstacles for the company's sale.

The issue of sales to Turkish companies is not limited to the energy sector alone. According to information leaked to the media, Sükiasyan is also consulting with Turkish investors regarding the possible sale of a number of strategic enterprises, including the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine.
