Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenka stated that he advised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the first days of the war.

Modern.az reports that Lukashenka said this in an interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin.

According to him, if Kyiv had fulfilled the Minsk agreements, there would be no war today:

“If Ukraine had implemented the Minsk agreements, the war would not have happened, and the country would have remained within its 1991 borders,” – the Belarusian leader stated.

Lukashenka said he advised Zelenskyy to correctly assess the current situation:

“If Ukraine wants to remain with its current borders now, it must enter into negotiations. Negotiations should not be disrupted under any circumstances.”

The Belarusian President claimed that Ukraine currently still has access to the sea, including important cities like Odesa and Mykolaiv, but this situation “can change in an instant.”

Lukashenka also touched upon the “peace plan” prepared by the United States:

“We support Russia's attempts to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine. The main points have already been agreed upon. If the United States acts as a diplomat, this agreement will be signed,” – he emphasized.
