Two servicemen of the Armenian army have stepped on a mine.
Modern.az reports that the Armenian Ministry of Defense has issued a statement regarding this.
It is reported that two contract servicemen sustained injuries in the Basarkechar region under circumstances unrelated to the performance of their official duties and at a time when they were not carrying out their service tasks.
"There is no threat to their lives. Relevant authorities are conducting appropriate investigations", the statement said.
Local media reports that one of the soldiers was wounded in the hand and foot, and the fingers of one hand were severed. The other's leg was amputated.
