A court in Armenia has extended the detention period of the brother and nephew of Karekin II, Catholicos of All Armenians.

For the Patriarch's brother, Gevork Nersisyan, the pre-trial detention measure was extended for two months, and for his nephew, Ambartsum Nersisyan, for three months.
The father and son were arrested on November 3.
According to the investigation, on November 1, during an election campaign in Voskeat village (for the election to the Vagharshapat Council of Elders), they obstructed a representative of the Republican Party from campaigning, uttered insults towards him, and demanded that he leave the village.
