Today, polling stations opened at 8:00 AM local time for the early elections of deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh (parliament) in Kyrgyzstan.

Bakıvaxtı.az reports that the voting is being held following the decision of the previous parliamentary convocation, which decided to dissolve itself on September 25. This step was explained by the necessity to separate the parliamentary campaign from the upcoming presidential elections, which are planned to be held in January 2027.

A total of 2492 polling stations have been opened in the country, 100 of which are abroad, and 40 are in the Russian Federation. Kyrgyz citizens aged 18 and above who have undergone biometric registration are eligible to vote. 4,294,243 people have been included in the voter lists.

More than 10,000 law enforcement officers are on duty to ensure public order and prevent violations on election day. Voting will continue until 20:00. Preliminary results are expected to be announced immediately after the polling stations close, and final results are planned to be calculated and officially declared by December 14.
