Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky has not yet chosen the new head of the Presidential Administration, and a selection is currently being made among several candidates.
Modern.az reports that the publication "RBK–Ukraina" wrote about this.
According to the information, there are four most discussed candidates:
- Minister of Defense Denis Şmıqal,
- First Deputy Prime Minister Mıxailo Fedorov,
- Head of the Military Intelligence Directorate Kirill Budanov,
- Deputy Head of the President's Office Pavel Palisa.
One of the publication's sources stated that the president initially considered these three individuals, while Palisa was included in the list because he has shown himself in a good light recently.
The appointment of Prime Minister Yuliya Sviridenko as Head of the Office is "highly unlikely," as the authorities no longer wish to change the head of government again.
According to one of the sources, Zelensky intends to personally engage in foreign policy, and the role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be increased in this direction. Therefore, the main task of the future Head of the Office will be domestic policy. Those around the President believe that a "high-level figure acceptable to the elites" should be brought to this post, otherwise the new head "could quickly be sidelined within the system".
Another source of the publication states that the list of candidates is not limited to these four individuals; there are also two more, less expected, candidates.
It is noted that the new appointment will not be made at least until Zelensky returns from his foreign trip - until Wednesday. He announced that he had written it and shortly after signed a decree on his dismissal from office.
