Satellite images obtained one day after the unsuccessful launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile at the Yasny range in Russia's Orenburg region confirmed the consequences of the incident.

Modern.az reports that in the footage, the large crater formed as a result of the missile crashing to the ground, burnt grass strips in the area, and a second crater created by missile debris can be seen.

The images also drew attention to the accumulation of approximately 20 pieces of equipment along the road leading to the launch pad. Among them were Ural-4320 trucks and an R-419L radio relay station.

The first information about the incident was provided by local residents. They reported hearing a loud explosion, and later seeing a purple cloud of smoke in the sky.

According to initial assumptions, the incident is related to the missile disintegrating in the air during launch. The region's Emergency Situations service noted that there is no danger to the population and no need for evacuation has arisen. It was stated that the Ministry of Defense should be contacted for additional information.

Federal agencies have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.

The Yasny range in Russia is one of the few facilities where long-range missiles are tested and is considered one of the main bases of the Strategic Missile Forces.
