The number of dead seals found on the Dagestan coast of the Caspian Sea has increased to 500.
Modern.az reports that Dagestan's Ministry of Natural Resources has issued a statement regarding this.
According to the information, the carcasses of the animals were found in several districts of the republic.
It was noted that the ministry's specialists conducted an investigation in the coastal strip of Makhachkala, Karabudakhkent, Kayakent, and Derbent districts. As a result, the carcasses of 484 seals that died on the shores were found.
To determine the cause of death of the animals, Dagestan's Ministry of Natural Resources has sent requests to relevant agencies. Investigations in the coastal areas will continue.
