US President Donald Trump sent a letter confirming his support for Syria's head of state Ahmed al-Shara.
Modern.az reports that, according to Al Arabiya, the letter was personally delivered by US Ambassador to Damascus Tom Barrack.
A photo taken during the meeting between Trump and al-Shara in the Oval Office last month was also attached to the letter. Barrack held talks with the Syrian leader and other officials in Damascus this week. The main topics of the talks were the regulation of relations with US-backed Kurdish forces, the security of ethnic groups in the country, and Israel's ongoing air strikes.
According to Arab media claims, Trump wrote in the letter: “Ahmed, you will be a great leader, and America will help you!”
The US President also called on Israel to continue dialogue with Syria. In a message he shared on "Truth Social", he emphasized the importance of stability in the region: “Israel must continue a strong and sincere dialogue with Syria. Nothing should happen to prevent Syria from becoming a prosperous state.”
According to the information, this post was made after Trump's phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
