The ban on former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, a deputy of the “Hayastan” faction of the Armenian Parliament, leaving the country has been lifted.
Modern.az reports that the relevant decision was made by an Armenian court.
According to the indictment, while he had the duty to control the expenditure of financial resources, the use of material and technical means and property, he misused his official powers contrary to service interests due to personal interests and profit-seeking during 2010-2015, and misappropriated a state-owned land plot.
Despite not having the right to carry out construction in that area, by giving instructions to Ashot Grigoryan, head of the Capital Construction and Troop Resettlement Department of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, and other individuals, and by involving construction organizations and their employees who participated in the Ministry of Defense's procurement processes, he organized and ensured the construction of a private residential house for himself on that plot.
