Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently held a phone conversation with Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner. Both sides discussed the cessation of the war.
Modern.az reports that Zelensky announced this on his “Telegram” page.
Zelensky stated that the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov also participated in the phone conversation.
“We focused on many aspects. We discussed key issues that could end the bloodshed and eliminate the threat of a third Russian invasion, including Russia's failure to fulfill its promises," the President stated.
The head of state emphasized that Ukraine will continue to work with the United States to achieve peace:
“We agreed with America on the next steps and discussion formats. We thank President Trump for demonstrating such an intensive approach to the negotiations,” Zelensky said.
