The death toll from a fire at a nightclub in Goa, India, has risen to 25, including at least four tourists.
Modern.az, citing the "Times of India" newspaper, reports that this was announced by police chief Alok Kumar.
"It has been confirmed that four tourists and 14 club employees died. The identities of seven more people are being established," the publication quoted Kumar as saying. At least 50 people were injured.
The incident occurred on the night of December 7 at the "Birch by Romeo Lane" nightclub located in the village of Arpora, North Goa region.
An investigation is currently underway. According to preliminary information, the cause of the fire was a gas cylinder explosion in the establishment's kitchen.
