The number of people leaving Ukraine has rapidly increased in recent months.
According to Modern.az, it is stated in the new macroeconomic and monetary review of the National Bank of Ukraine, based on UN and Eurostat data, that the number of people who left the country from October 3 to November 14, 2025, approached the figure recorded in the previous nine months.
According to the report, the total number of migrants living outside Ukraine reached 5.9 million as of November 14. This represents an increase of 128 thousand people since the previous indicator recorded on October 3. For comparison, the increase in January–September was 166 thousand people.
The National Bank explains the strengthening of the migration wave with several factors. One of the main reasons cited is the intensification of Russian attacks against civilian infrastructure in recent months. Another important factor is the permission granted to men aged 18–22 to leave the country.
