US President Donald Trump presented the Kennedy Center medal to several celebrities. Trump spoke during the ceremony, discussing why Sylvester Stallone was the most suitable choice for the film "Rocky".
Modern.az reports that Trump stated that for the filming of the 1976 Oscar-winning film, they wanted to see one of the famous stars of that era in the lead role, not Stallone.
The President added that a famous actor was considered one of the main candidates for the role of Rocky Balboa, but the studio head quickly changed his decision:
"They saw that he couldn't play this role - there was too much fat in the chest area. Whereas that character was supposed to be as solid as a rock."
Stallone wrote the film's screenplay and received offers to sell it for a large sum, but the actor insisted on playing the lead role himself.
Trump also honored some members of the rock band Kiss", British actor Michael Crawford, country singer George Strait, and singer Gloria Gaynor.
