Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán held a joint press conference dedicated to the results of their bilateral meeting. The parties announced that 16 cooperation agreements across various fields were signed between the two countries within the framework of the 7th meeting of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
Modern.az reports that the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further developing relations and discussed the activation of a joint planning mechanism for resolving bilateral and global issues.
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan noted that Turkey and Hungary are close to reaching the target of 6 billion dollars in trade turnover. The parties agreed to increase this figure to 10 billion dollars. In addition to economic cooperation, the leaders discussed security issues in Europe, the expansion of cooperation in the defense industry, as well as joint projects in the fields of science and innovation.
The Turkish President noted Hungary's contribution to the development of the Turkic world and expressed his gratitude to Budapest for its support for Ankara's main strategic goal of full membership in the European Union.
