US President Donald Trump has once again made headlines with his statements regarding Ukraine.
According to Modern.az, he stated that Ukraine's positions in negotiations are “weaker” compared to Russia, and Europe is “not doing its part” regarding this war.
Trump called on his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky to hold presidential elections in the country: “Ukraine talks about democracy, but a situation has arisen where this is no longer democracy. Ukrainians must have a choice.”
According to him, the Kyiv leadership should carefully consider the peace proposals presented.
The owner of the White House also claimed that Ukraine “has lost a lot of territory” during the war and that this conflict is unlikely to lead to a Third World War as before. Trump added that the understanding that Ukraine's admission to NATO will not happen “has existed for a long time” and Zelensky “should start agreeing to proposals.”
The US President also voiced notable opinions regarding NATO. He said that when some members of the alliance have disagreements with Turkey, they ask him for help: “Turkey is a difficult partner for NATO. Erdoğan is my friend. When they have a problem with Erdoğan, they ask me to call him because it's not easy to talk to him.”
