Within the framework of measures taken against phone and internet fraud in Russia, the prohibition of phone calls originating from “unfriendly countries” is being discussed.
Modern.az reports that Russian President Vladimir Putin informed about this during his meeting with members of the Human Rights Council (HRC).
According to Putin, this proposal was put forward by the Council.
The President stated that the discussion is only about blocking calls made for fraudulent purposes, and more precise rules are being established for the communication of state institutions, banks, and mobile operators with citizens.
“Within this framework, the blocking of calls made from the territory of unfriendly states with criminal intent, the labeling of calls, and additional requirements regarding the conduct of those working in communication with state bodies towards customers are envisaged. The government takes all these proposals into account and implements them,” Putin said.
