Near the city of Palmyra, located in the central part of Syria's Homs province, two US soldiers and an American civilian translator were killed.
Modern.az reports that Pentagon Press Secretary Sean Parnell announced this on the social network X.
According to him, US military personnel were supporting operations against the ISIS terrorist group in the region.
The Pentagon spokesperson did not disclose additional details about the incident, but stated that an investigation is underway.
US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also posted on the X platform, stating: “The individual who carried out this attack has been neutralized by partner forces.” The Pentagon chief added that those who attack Americans anywhere in the world should know: “The US will pursue you, find you, and relentlessly destroy you.”
