German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that the country needs deep modernization.
Modern.az reports that he spoke about this during his speech at the party congress held in Munich.
Merz noted that the foundation of the state is strong, but its modernization and “renewal from scratch” are necessary.
According to the Chancellor, the “era of ideology” has ended in Germany, and the country must now learn to defend its national interests more resolutely.
Merz also added that the issue of restoring military conscription in the country may also be discussed in the near future.
