Berlin police detained 18 people after the demonstration held on Saturday in connection with the disturbance of public order.
According to information from Modern.az, this was stated in the local police's statement on the social network "X".
According to the information, eight police officers were injured in the riots that occurred during a demonstration by radical left-wing supporters in Berlin's Friedrichshain district.
"At the current moment, we were forced to detain 18 people in connection with the disturbance of public order, the violation of Article 86a of the German Criminal Code (prohibition of the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations) and the law on explosives", – it was noted in the statement.
According to law enforcement agencies, approximately one thousand people participated in the rally held in the German capital, and security was provided by 500 police officers. Towards night, the demonstrators began to behave aggressively, throwing bottles and fireworks at the police and chanting slogans of banned organizations.
