The latest photos related to mass graves have been released after clashes between the army and armed groups in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.

Modern.az reports that "Aljazeera" disseminated information about this.

When fierce battles were ongoing, people were burying bodies in their home yards.

According to information provided by the agency, access to cemeteries was not possible due to the battles.

Currently, Khartoum State has launched a large-scale campaign for the exhumation and relocation of the remains of temporarily buried people to cemeteries.

To carry out the process of exhuming graves, state and local committees have been established. These committees include representatives from forensic medicine, Civil Defense, the Sudanese Red Crescent, as well as neighborhood management and service committees.

The process will be carried out in stages. The first stage consists of identifying temporary burial sites.

Subsequently, families are informed and given the opportunity to appoint a representative who will participate in all stages, from exhumation to reburial.

It should be noted that the battles in Sudan were ongoing between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). On one side are the Sudanese Armed Forces (the official army), and on the other side, an armed paramilitary group called the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is fighting. This conflict, starting from 2023, has led to fierce battles, especially in cities such as Khartoum, Omdurman, and North Khartoum, and has created a severe humanitarian crisis in the country.
