Ukraine's Defense Forces continue their attacks in the Kupyansk direction of Kharkiv Oblast and on the outskirts of the city.
Modern.az reports that this is noted in a new report by the US Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
The information notes that, in particular, Ukrainian forces have advanced in the center of Kupyansk and clearing operations are being conducted there.
It is reported that journalist and fighter of the 13th operational purpose brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard named “Khartiya”, Yuri Butusov, wrote on his Facebook page that Ukrainian troops fully control the Yubileynyi microdistrict, located southwest of Kupyansk. He added that this will eliminate the Russians' ability to hold any remaining positions in the southern part of the city.
According to the journalist, Ukrainian troops liberated Tishchenkovka by September 24, Kondrashovka by October 9, and Radkovka by October 11. According to him, this allowed Ukrainian forces to break through Russian defenses in that area.
Butusov also stated that Ukrainian forces reached the right bank of the Oskil River and by October 21, they cut Russia's ground supply lines leading to Kupyansk from the north. At the same time, the Russians created a high-risk zone for unmanned aerial vehicles in the Kupyansk direction.
In addition, ISW emphasized that geolocation footage published on December 12 and 13 shows that Russian sabotage groups are still present in the northern and western parts of the city.
