It has been announced that the perpetrators of the terrorist act in Sydney, Australia, which resulted in the death of 16 people and the injury of 40 people, were a father and son.
Modern.az reports that this information was provided by New South Wales Police Commissioner Mal Lanyon at a press conference. According to him, the attack was carried out by two individuals residing in the Bonnyrigg area, located in southwestern Sydney.
According to preliminary investigation data, the 24-year-old son was seriously injured during his apprehension, while his 50-year-old father was killed during the incident. The attack occurred in the Bondi Beach area.
The police commissioner stated that there is currently no evidence that the attack was premeditated. According to the information, one of the attackers had officially licensed firearms for approximately 10 years and acquired the weapon legally.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
