In Yekaterinburg, Russia, a verdict has been issued against members of a Marxist circle from Ufa.

The court found them guilty of preparing for the violent seizure of power and the alteration of the constitutional order. Modern.az reports that the “Kommersant” publication disseminated information about this.

According to the information, all defendants in the case have been sentenced to imprisonment ranging from 16 to 22 years. According to the verdict, part of the sentence will be served in prison, and the remainder in a strict-regime correctional facility.

Among the accused are former deputy Dmitry Chuvilin, pensioner Yuri Yefimov, doctor Alexey Dmitriyev, former law enforcement officer Pavel Matisov, and Rinat Burkeyev.

According to the investigation, Matisov was the founder of the “terrorist group,” while other individuals participated in its activities. According to the indictment, the group operated in the Republic of Bashkortostan between 2019 and 2022. Prior to this, all convicted individuals were included in Russia's list of “terrorists and extremists.”
