The detention period of Vardan Ghukasyan, the mayor of Gyumri, has been extended by 3 months.

Three deputies from the "Hayastan" faction of the Armenian parliament - Mher Melkonyan, Garnik Danielyan, and Gegham Manukyan - submitted a guarantee to the court for the modification of Gyumri mayor Vardan Ghukasyan's pre-trial detention measure. Actor Levon Harutyunyan also joined the guarantors. However, the court extended Vardan Ghukasyan's detention period.
It should be recalled that he was arrested on charges of bribery.
