Turkey will implement a visa regime for citizens of Southern Cyprus.
According to the new decision, citizens traveling from Southern Cyprus to Turkey will have to obtain a visa. Thus, the regime that has been applied for many years and facilitated the entry of Greek Cypriot residents into Turkey has been abolished.
The decision comes into force on January 2. For citizens of Southern Cyprus to travel to Turkey, it will be mandatory for them to obtain a visa in their passports from the embassies and consulates of the Republic of Turkey abroad.
It should be noted that relations between Ankara and Nicosia have long continued against the backdrop of diplomatic and political contradictions.
