Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke today with President Donald Trump's special envoy Steve Witkoff and diplomatic advisor Jared Kushner.
Modern.az reports that Zelensky announced this on Telegram.
"I thank you for your constructive and intensive work, your kind words to Ukrainians, and your Christmas greetings. We are striving to bring closer the end of this war against Ukraine and to make all documents and steps real, effective, and reliable," he noted.
According to Zelensky, they discussed some important details of the work during the conversation.
“There are good ideas that can work for a common outcome and lasting peace. True security, true recovery, true peace — this is what all of us need in Ukraine, the USA, Europe, and every partner who supports us. I hope that our Christmas agreements and the ideas we discussed today will be useful,” the president noted.
Zelensky was accompanied by Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and head of the Ukrainian delegation in talks with the USA; Lieutenant General Andriy Hnatov, Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine; Andriy Sibikha, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Serhiy Kyslytsya, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ihor Brusylo, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office; and Oleksandr Bevz, Advisor to the Presidential Office.
"We agreed that Rustem will speak with Steve and Jared again today. We believe it is right not to waste even a single day or opportunity that can bring us closer to a result. May our conversation today be another step towards peace," the head of state added.
