King Charles III of Great Britain's traditional television address on the occasion of Christmas concluded with the performance of a Ukrainian folk song.

Modern.az reports that although the King did not mention Ukraine or any other specific countries in his speech, the video accompanying the address included footage depicting his sister, Princess Anne's meeting with wounded Ukrainian soldiers.

At the end of the address, “Shchedryk”, a famous Ukrainian Christmas carol, was performed. This choral work, written by Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in the early 20th century, is widely known worldwide, including in Great Britain, where it is famous under the name “Carol of the Bells” – “Christmas bells song”. In the King's Christmas address, the song was performed jointly by the “Songs for Ukraine” choir, composed of refugees from Ukraine, and the Royal Opera Chorus.

In his speech, Charles III emphasized the importance of seeking peace, mutual aid, tolerance, and compassion. He stated that adherence to universal values is the fundamental path for society and called on people to demonstrate solidarity in the face of difficulties.
