"Syria's new currency will be put into circulation, and this will be a new economic phase."
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Abdul Qadir al-Hasriya, Chairman of the Central Bank of Syria.
"The new Syrian currency is a symbol of our financial sovereignty after liberation, marking the beginning of a new phase established with the management of the Central Bank of Syria and the cooperation of everyone. This will be a firm step towards national success, stability, and economic recovery, in addition to the achievements made since the moment of liberation," he emphasized.
Al-Hasriya noted that the details of the new currency will be announced during a meeting to be held on December 28.
