"Ukraine does not have the necessary funds to hold its presidential elections".
Modern.az reports that Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the President of Ukraine, stated this in an interview with the "Novyny Live" Telegram channel.
In his opinion, the financial burden should be directed to other sources.
The advisor emphasized that "Ukraine does not have the financial capacity to fund an election campaign. Our budget is in deficit, and this is not our responsibility".
Podolyak explained that, under conditions of armed conflict, the Ukrainian state is physically unable to cover the costs associated with organizing and holding elections.
The advisor also touched upon the issue of Ukrainians voting abroad. This concerns 6-8 million citizens, and a special working group must develop a mechanism for their participation in elections.
A special working group in the Verkhovna Rada must determine the approximate cost of the election process.
