Peruvian shamans have announced their predictions for 2026 in the capital Lima during their traditional New Year's ceremony. They declared that US President Donald Trump would contract a serious illness, Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro would be defeated, and Russia's war against Ukraine would end.
The ceremony was held at the end of December in the southern part of Peru's capital, on the ocean coast.
According to Modern.az, Reuters agency disseminated information about the ritual and the shamans' statements. The shamans gathered on the beach, wearing brightly colored ponchos, and performed rituals over posters depicting world leaders. They crossed swords over the posters, burned incense, and scattered flowers.
One of the ceremony participants, shaman Juan de Dios Garcia, openly voiced the main predictions. According to him, “the United States should prepare, because Donald Trump will become seriously ill.”
Reuters' material also included shaman Garcia's views on the situation in Venezuela and the war in Ukraine. He stated that he foresees the defeat of the current government in Caracas and the end of the armed conflict in Eastern Europe.
Ritual on Lima Beach
During the ritual, the shamans used large-scale depictions of Donald Trump, Nicolas Maduro, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The posters were laid directly on the sand, and rituals were performed over them.
Juan de Dios Garcia specifically addressed the topic of Venezuela. He stated that Nicolas Maduro would be defeated and would leave the country, but would not be arrested. According to the shaman, events would unfold rapidly, but there would be no public detention.
The shaman also voiced a prediction regarding Peru's internal politics. He claimed that Keiko Fujimori, daughter of former president Alberto Fujimori, would win the presidential elections after three unsuccessful attempts. Garcia explained this with a vision he obtained during the use of the traditional wachuma plant.
Prediction on War and Elections
From the perspective of the international agenda, the most notable statement concerned Russia's war against Ukraine. According to Garcia, the conflict would end, and the parties would “raise the flag of peace.” He did not provide specifics regarding the timing or conditions of this process.
This ceremony of Peruvian shamans is held annually at the end of December and is traditionally accompanied by predictions regarding world events. However, Reuters recalled that these same shamans had previously predicted the end of the war in Ukraine, including in 2023, but this did not happen.
