Armenia does not oppose the Zangezur corridor (Trump road) project.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Turkey's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu.
The minister emphasized that progress in Turkey–Armenia relations primarily depends on reaching an agreement between Yerevan and Baku.
Uraloğlu noted that he held talks with both former and current transport ministers of Armenia and received assurances during these meetings that Armenia does not intend to obstruct the implementation of the corridor project.
“First, Azerbaijan and Armenia must sit at the negotiating table and reach an agreement. After that, Turkey can take steps regarding Armenia within the framework of good neighborly relations. This is also the position of our President,” the minister stated.
Turkey's Minister of Transport specifically emphasized the strategic importance of the Zangezur corridor:
“This route holds great value for us. It will also provide a direct transport link with the Turkic world and Turkic states.”
