Azerbaijan is holding negotiations to acquire military training aircraft from Turkey.

According to the information, "Turkish Aerospace Industries" (TAI), one of Turkey's influential aviation companies, is close to signing a contract for the sale of new generation training aircraft "Hürkuş-II" to Azerbaijan. TAI's General Manager Mehmet Demiroğlu provided information on this in his New Year's address.
If the contract is signed, Azerbaijani cadets will continue their flight training on "Hürkuş-II" aircraft after the initial stage. This will allow pilot training to be harmonized with the Turkish model. In the next stage, Azerbaijan also plans to acquire the "Hürjet" jet training aircraft.
The Turkish company has also started the second phase of the LACIN project for the modernization of Azerbaijan's Su-25 attack aircraft. Within the framework of the project, the avionics of the aircraft will be completely updated, and a transition to a digital control system will be made. Compatibility of the Su-25s with modern high-precision weapons is envisaged.
In previously conducted tests, the launch of long-range missiles from the modernized Su-25 was successfully carried out.
