A 5.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded in India's eastern state of Assam.

Modern.az reports that the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre released information regarding this.

The earthquake's epicenter was located 76 km northeast of the city of Guwahati, which has a population of 899,000, and its focus was at a depth of 10 km.

No casualties or damage have been reported.
