Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro received an offer a few days before his overthrow to emigrate from the US to Turkey.
Modern.az reports that this information has been confirmed by American Senator Lindsey Graham. He recalled the real basis of Donald Trump's statement to journalists on the plane: "Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro could have been in Turkey today, but he is in New York (in custody)".
It should be recalled that a day earlier, the "New York Times" newspaper reported that on December 23, US authorities offered Maduro the opportunity to resign and go to Turkey, but Maduro refused.
Senator Graham stated that the Venezuelan leader decided to oppose Trump and the US army, and now he is in custody.
