This year will be a year of reform for Turkey.
Modern.az reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated this in his speech at his party's parliamentary group meeting.
Erdoğan stated that the first priority in 2025 is the reconstruction of the earthquake-affected region, adding that they not only built houses, workplaces, and residences but also handed over the houses to their owners. Erdoğan said, "By the end of the year, we had the pride of fulfilling our promise to our earthquake-affected brothers and sisters by drawing lots for 455,000 post-disaster aid homes."
Commenting on the central government budget, Erdoğan said that the 2026 budget, approaching 19 trillion lira, is aimed at increasing the welfare of 86 million people, and a human-centered production and export-oriented vision has been prepared.
Referring to the significant progress made in combating inflation, Erdoğan also spoke about agricultural support, stating: "We provided 706 billion lira in support. We provided 47 billion lira in support to producers affected by cold weather that damaged 16 products in 65 provinces. We completed 321 facilities, including 22 dams, 7 ponds, 3 underground dams, 70 irrigation facilities, 12 wastewater treatment plants, and 6 hydroelectric power plants. We provided 11 billion lira in funding for the 11 earthquake-affected provinces. In total, we planted 517 million trees."
