Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan denied reports that the US offered Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro the opportunity to go to Turkey.

"We have not received such information; such a thing has not happened", Erdoğan stated.
It should be recalled that "The New York Times" (NYT) newspaper reported on December 23 that the American authorities offered Maduro the opportunity to leave his country and go to Turkey, but that the Venezuelan leader "angrily rejected the plan."
