Tension between the army affiliated with the Damascus government and Kurdish armed forces in the Syrian city of Aleppo continues for the fourth day.
Modern.az reports that after the escalation of clashes, government forces entered the Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods, which are under Kurdish control, and a temporary ceasefire was declared.
Although Kurdish forces were given time to leave Aleppo and withdraw to northeastern Syria, this offer was rejected.
They stated that this was a “call for surrender” and announced that they would defend the neighborhoods. The Syrian Democratic Forces claim they have no official military presence in the city, while Damascus denies this.
According to "Reuters", more than 140,000 people have left their areas of residence as a result of the clashes. The United Nations has urged the parties to urgently de-escalate tensions and protect the civilian population. The future development of the situation in the region remains uncertain, depending on the fate of the March 10 agreement.
