Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei condemned the unrest in the country as a plan by enemies, claiming that the US was trying to incite violence.

Modern.az reports that the Supreme Leader, speaking at Tehran's Imam Khomeini Mosque, stated that a group of vandals destroyed buildings in the capital and other cities "to please the US president."

According to Ayatollah Khamenei, President Donald Trump, who is incapable of managing his own country or dealing with various events in the US, threatened them by siding with the rebels if the Iranian administration took certain measures.

Khamenei recalled the 12-day war and stated that the US president's hands are stained with the blood of over 1000 Iranians.

He said that Donald Trump, during the 12-day war that occurred in June 2025, admitted to ordering attacks that ended the lives of over 1000 Iranians, including military commanders, scientists, and ordinary people.

Iran's Supreme Leader reacted harshly to a group of ignorant individuals who were deceived by the US president and burned trash cans "to please Trump."

Khamenei referred to the anti-government protesters as "troublemakers" and a "gang of vandals," stating that they were merely "trying to please the US president."

According to international human rights organizations, the protests in Iran have been ongoing for 14 days, and during these protests, 65 people, including 7 teenagers, have been killed.

According to reports, hundreds of people have been injured in the protests.

The protests began on December 28, and according to the US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 2277 people have been arrested so far.
