US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington supports the Iranian people amid anti-government protests in Iran.
Modern.az reports that the Secretary of State stated this in a post on his X account.
"The protests were ignited by the severe economic situation in the country. The United States supports the brave people of Iran,” – Marco Rubio wrote.
It should be recalled that US President Donald Trump threatened Tehran with an attack against Iran if its security forces used force against protesters. Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in turn, advised Trump to “focus on his own country” and blamed the US for inciting the protests.
