The United Kingdom has begun to withdraw some of its military personnel from Al Udeid Air Base, located in Qatar and which is the largest American military base in the region.
Modern.az reports, citing Sky News, that the decision was made after US President Donald Trump addressed protesters in Iran, stating that help was on the way.
Iran has repeatedly stated that if the US launches a military attack in the region, it will retaliate against American military facilities. Britain has also begun to withdraw some of its personnel from Al Udeid Air Base, located in Qatar and which is the largest American military base in the region.
A representative of the UK Ministry of Defence stated that details regarding deployment and dislocation are not commented on due to operational security. Britain always takes precautionary measures to ensure the safety of its military personnel, and the withdrawal of personnel in necessary cases is included in these measures.
It has not yet been clarified whether all British military personnel will be withdrawn from the base in Qatar.
