The number of deaths in the protests that began in Iran amidst economic problems has been announced.
Modern.az reports that the Iranian Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) has released information on this matter.
It was stated that the number of deaths during the demonstrations has risen to 2,615.
It was emphasized that as a result of clashes across the country, 2,054 people were injured, and 18,470 people were detained.
It should be noted that Iranian officials have not yet released official information regarding the number of dead and injured during the protests. HRANA had announced the number of deaths as 2,550 a day earlier.
It is worth recalling that the protests began on December 28, 2025, in Tehran's Grand Bazaar due to the sharp depreciation of the local currency against foreign currencies and the severe economic situation, subsequently spreading to many cities across the country.
