NATO has launched a large-scale military exercise named “Steadfast Dart 26” in Germany.

Modern.az reports that a total of 10,000 military personnel from 11 NATO member countries - Italy, Greece, Germany, Czech Republic, Spain, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Turkey, France, Belgium, and Great Britain - are participating in the exercise. Land forces, air forces, naval forces, as well as space and cyber units are involved in the exercise. More than 1,500 military vehicles, including battle tanks and missile launch systems, over 20 military aircraft and fighters, as well as 17 naval units – landing ships, frigates, and submarines – will be used in the maneuvers.

The main objective of the “Steadfast Dart 26” exercise is to test the ability of NATO forces' personnel and equipment to be deployed quickly and in a coordinated manner within the Alliance territory.

The main phases of the exercises will be organized in February at the Bergen military training area located in Lower Saxony, Germany. This area is one of Europe's largest military training grounds. Additionally, a demonstration of an amphibious landing operation is planned at the “Putlos” training area in the state of Schleswig-Holstein.

The “Steadfast Dart 26” exercise is the first practical application of the new rapid reaction forces established under the command of NATO's Joint Force Command located in Brunssum.
