US President Donald Trump has issued a new statement regarding individuals arrested and sentenced to death during the events that began in Iran due to rising living costs and inflation, and quickly turned into mass and violent protests.
Modern.az reports, citing foreign media, that Trump, who in his previous speeches called on the Tehran leadership to halt executions, expressed his satisfaction with the Iranian government's positive response to these calls.
In a statement shared on his social media account, the US President thanked the Iranian authorities, stating, “I have great respect for the Iranian government's decision to revoke all more than 800 death sentences that were intended to be carried out.”
