“It is time to seek new leadership in Iran, and Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's 37-year rule must end.”
Modern.az reports that US President Donald Trump stated this during an interview with “Politico”.
Trump, stating that thousands of protesters had been killed across the country in the last three weeks, recalled that he had therefore threatened the country's leadership with military intervention. Although he initially called on Iranians to continue the protests, he later stated that he had received information that the killings had stopped.
Trump called the decision by Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, not to execute more than 800 people “the best decision.”
Trump also stated that official Tehran governs the country with violence and repression, destroying the country and causing the deaths of thousands of people. He emphasized that leadership should be based on respect, not fear and death.
“This man is sick. He must govern his country properly and stop killing people. His country is the worst place in the world for people to live. Because the leadership is weak,” Trump added.
