Italian fashion designer, founder of the "Valentino" fashion house, Valentino Garavani, has passed away at the age of 93 at his home in Rome.

Modern.az reports that the Garavani Cultural-Historical Foundation has issued a statement regarding this.

The funeral ceremony will be held on January 23 at 11:00 AM in the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, located at Republic Square, 8, in the center of Rome.

Valentino Garavani was born in northern Italy in 1932. After school, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and at the school of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture in Paris. Additionally, he interned with French fashion designers Jean Dessès and Guy Laroche. After returning to Italy, he opened his own tailoring workshop in Rome. In the early 1960s, he co-founded the "Valentino" fashion house with Giancarlo Giammetti.
