Turkey's child population is declining: 103-year anti-record

Turkey's birth rate has fallen to its lowest level in the last 103 years.

Modern.az reports that the average birth rate in the country has fallen to 1.42, and 889,598 children were born in the country last year. This is approximately 5.12% less than the 2024 birth indicator (937,559).

The number of children born in Turkey last fell below the 900,000 level in 1922.
