Our neighbor Syria is engaged in an intense struggle to achieve unity in the country.
Modern.az reports that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated this at the Justice and Development Party meeting. He said that the Syrian Democratic Forces violated this agreement.
"We have given the necessary advice to all parties. We have made every effort to prevent the crisis from turning into an armed conflict. However, the position of the element called SDG has not changed".
Erdoğan recalled that Turkey has always defended the existence of a unified Syrian state.
He also recalled the disrespect shown to the Turkish flag.
"We will certainly find the dirty hands that reached for our flag and we will definitely hold these traitors accountable. Our ministries have started the necessary investigations. Those who show negligence or culpability will face the appropriate consequences", he said.
It should be recalled that supporters of the terrorist organization YPG lowered the Turkish flag from its pole in the Nusaybin–Qamishli area on the Syrian-Turkish border.
