The 13-year-long blood feud between the Nayci and Onuk families in the Silopi district of Turkey's Şırnak province has ended. The conflict, which resulted in the deaths of three people and caused deep sorrow for both families, concluded with a peace agreement reached in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

Modern.az reports that the process took place with the mediation and initiative of Arslan Tatar, AK Party Member of Parliament for Şırnak. Stating that the long-standing enmity had seriously damaged social peace, the MP brought the parties together in the TBMM.

At the meeting, the Nayci family was represented by Hacı Yusif Nayci, and the Onuk family by Hışyar Onuk. Bingöl Member of Parliament Zeki Korkutata also participated in the peace talks.

Speaking during the agreement, Arslan Tatar stated that choosing the path of brotherhood instead of adding new sorrows to existing pains is the most correct step. According to him, this agreement is of significant importance not only between the two families but also for strengthening peace and tranquility throughout the region.
