An "Azur Air" aircraft flying from Phuket, Thailand, to Barnaul, Russia, is preparing for an emergency landing at Lanzhou Airport in the People's Republic of China after issuing an emergency signal.
Modern.az reports that Russian media disseminated information about this.
A representative of the airline stated in information provided to the newspaper “Ъ” that there were 238 passengers on board the aircraft.
Azur Air's statement reads:
“The airline is monitoring the situation, and further information is awaited. As the reasons are clarified, information about the situation will be provided immediately.”
According to information from the SHOT Telegram channel, the aircraft in question is a Boeing 757-2Q8. It is noted that a 7700 signal was issued, which indicates an emergency or distress situation on board.
However, the exact reasons for the aircraft's sudden landing are not yet known.
